Dental work
Aug. 6th, 2021 03:49 pmLast Friday Scotty went in to have a cracked tooth removed, paid under warranty by the humane society since it was a known issue when we got him. Dental work on cats is major surgery since they don’t just lay back in the chair on command, they have to have a general. While they were in there they ended up removing SIX teeth not just the one. I paid extra to get dental sealant applied to the rest. Hopefully we won’t do this again!
Poor guy was very unhappy for a good 24 hours after we brought him home. He did not want to be handled. But the next day he was back to his usual purring snuggling self. Whew!
He had to have soft food for a week. He snarfed the baby food, salmon, and tuna, but turned up his nose at canned cat food. When we first got him he ate everything we offered, with gusto, especially canned foods, but now he is doing a more normal picky cat thing and canned cat food is off the menu, lol! He seems excited to have the kibble back, today.
Steve is also suffering from a cracked tooth, so he has great sympathy.
