People like the GenZe a lot. Almost everyone who visits enjoys a go. But the frame is too large for many people; the seat won't go low enough. I tried to pick up a second one, in a smaller size, only to discover the sale had ended and the second one would cost almost twice as much. Not enough of a bargain, when it is only a loaner machine. But I do still have budget left... and today I got email that the sale is back on. A smaller GenZe is now on the way to me. Come over and ride with me!

Meanwhile the Pfiff trike is not working out anywhere near as well. The handling is ok at low speeds, like the kind of speeds you'd get by pedaling it on the flat. But with the motor, or on downhills? Scary to go more than 5 or 6 mph, and by 10mph it's freakin' terrifying. And one of my goals was to go faster, remember? One of my motorcycling friends has gifted me a steering damper to try, but if that doesn't improve it enough, I may end up converting it back to stock, non-electric, and selling it off. And then look around for something else to convert with these parts.

I am liking this Veleon but I have yet to find anyone selling them in the USA, and it's awfully expensive to import, sight unseen.

The adventure continues!

Last weekend was Dexter Daze. Friday and Saturday, so I took vacation on Friday just to have more time to enjoy the festival. And [personal profile] pi3832 came out from Chicago to spend the weekend with us.

The weather was perfect.

I signed up for a two hour shift at the Western Washtenaw Democrats booth. It was nice to meet the like-minded people who stopped by. One nutcase came up to holler at us that we should leave America if we hate it so much. We just rolled our eyes. I mean seriously, who does that? There are probably people on the other side who would be ashamed of this dude, even, though I suppose they're being pushed out.

I bought a fancy garden ornament made of art glass. This seems to be my thing; I bought something like this last year too. I bought popcorn from a booth where they were fundraising for the high school wrestling team, and ended up letting one of the dads test ride the trike - though I set the speed limiter to "1" which mean he had a max speed of 1.5 mph, because of the crowd. Even so, he came back and said he'd run over someone's foot. Oops. LOL!

I did not win $10K from the Gordon Hall raffle, and I did not win the playhouse from the Rotary Club raffle. I didn't win the duck race either but that's because I didn't buy a duck.

Our BBQ was well attended and fun.

Sunday night I taught my neighbor, Karen, to ride the trike and we rode them across town to the Mexican restaurant for dinner.

[personal profile] pi3832 worked on stuff; it is what he likes to do. He discovered a fancy controller in the box of Lionel train things my dad had provided, and got it working. He also got the BMW R250 started, and repaired a lot of its wiring, and the headlight bezel. Thank you Mike!
