Ebike fleet update
Aug. 13th, 2019 01:07 pmPeople like the GenZe a lot. Almost everyone who visits enjoys a go. But the frame is too large for many people; the seat won't go low enough. I tried to pick up a second one, in a smaller size, only to discover the sale had ended and the second one would cost almost twice as much. Not enough of a bargain, when it is only a loaner machine. But I do still have budget left... and today I got email that the sale is back on. A smaller GenZe is now on the way to me. Come over and ride with me!
Meanwhile the Pfiff trike is not working out anywhere near as well. The handling is ok at low speeds, like the kind of speeds you'd get by pedaling it on the flat. But with the motor, or on downhills? Scary to go more than 5 or 6 mph, and by 10mph it's freakin' terrifying. And one of my goals was to go faster, remember? One of my motorcycling friends has gifted me a steering damper to try, but if that doesn't improve it enough, I may end up converting it back to stock, non-electric, and selling it off. And then look around for something else to convert with these parts.
I am liking this Veleon but I have yet to find anyone selling them in the USA, and it's awfully expensive to import, sight unseen.
The adventure continues!
