Today I got my catalog and ordering kit from Z Custom leathers. On page 11, I found this product description.
"Shown on page 10 is Paula (one of the Z daughters). When she's not modeling bikinis or lingerie, Paula opts for a basic design 1-Piece Race Suit Style No. 110 with full front perforation for maximum ventilation."
Because after all she's really hot and we wouldn't want her tits to overheat. LOL! I suppose I shouldn't complain, at least in this photo the woman has leather on the bottom half of her body, instead of lycra tights or short shorts. And her suit is zipped up in front, unlike most of the other photos of women in here. But they wouldn't want her to look too serious, so they have her long blond hair tied in a top knot that sticks up from the top of her head, making it impossible to imagine she's ever worn a helmet. And she's got her spine contorted to make the most of those assets.
I'm not offended, I just think it's silly. None of this cheesecake stuff is very important, considering these magic words, found on page 5.
"Z Custom can tailor any design for men and women."
I can go through the catalog and pick any suit I like, even if the catalog shows it on a man. I'm not limited to the more fashionable and less well armored pieces that most of the women in the catalog are wearing. Since it's custom it will be long enough. I even get to pick my own colors; they've sent along leather swatches and diagrams I can color in to help me visualize my color choices.
I think I will get black pants, because black goes with everything. But the jacket will need to be brightly colored, for better visibility in traffic. Yellow and red, maybe.
I wonder how long it will take? I called them today to ask, but got voice mail. They have not called back yet. I hope this isn't a sign of Vanson-like behavior to come.

I was that heavy before and if I succumb to the sugar again I'll be that heavy again. If that happens I'll have enough reasons to kick myself, without having to also buy yet another riding suit. :-)

Date: 2007-02-28 11:24 pm (UTC)I do own a one-piece Aerostich suit I could wear for commuting, and since I lost weight I can even bend in the middle while wearing it, though the shoulders and stomach are still gigantic, flapping and blocking my mirrors. However for normal touring where I don't have to wear business attire, I'm just as happy to wear two piece leathers. If you go into a restaurant in an Aerostich, you need a whole 'nother chair for your riding suit, but with two piece leathers you can just take off your jacket and hang it over the back of the chair, and just keep wearing the pants. Also when you wear an Aerostich people treat you like a freak and I'm tired of it. People know what the leathers are and they pass without comment.
The big problem with the leathers is that you have to carry a rainsuit, and change in and out of it all the time. The Motoport stuff you have would be nice because it's two piece, but it doesn't need a rain suit. How do you like it? How long did it take to get it? Is it comfortable? How's the venting? Maybe I should consider the custom Motoport instead. I had forgotten about those guys.
Ermmmmmmmmm.......
