With the bikes I've had, I'm already pretty close to the BMW part of the motorcycling spectrum. For me the VFR is a step away from BMW ownership. :-)

Addition. It's a '94, so not very expensive. I keep saying I don't want to own more than three bikes, but I'm currently only at two, so there's room.

Yup. I'd been wanting a VFR and I was favoring the 94-97 version despite all Phil's attempts to upsell me to the 98-01 version. I've ridden every version and the 94-97 is very comfortable. Besides I wanted a bike that's in good working order but not too valuable. Fear of binning my rare TDM or my newish Strom makes me too risk-averse at track school and I want to get more aggressive out there. I don't have the red mist that silences that nagging voice that says "You'll never find the parts to fix this TDM if you crash it!" I'm hoping I can convince myself to worry less about this bike.

I'd rather have a 94 that had Mike as the previous owner, than a 97 owned by someone else. I know how well he keeps his bikes. Plus it has farkles I like anyway.

Y'know I haven't asked what color it is. But I seem to recall it is red, yes. Most of them are red, so it's quite likely.
