Candylily seeds
Sep. 24th, 2006 10:03 pmAnyone want some candy lily seeds?
I have a couple of plants and both bore a lot of seeds this year. The flowers on my plants are kind of orange-yellow with red or brown spots, like the picture on the upper right hand side of the page I linked to. I haven't seen any others around here so they're at least somewhat unusual, and I think they're pretty. Note I am not anything like a knowledgeable gardener; I don't know what is the best method of caring for and growing these seeds. However there are websites where people claim to have successfully grown these from seed. (I just wish they had some gardening-for-dummies type instructions!)
Anyway, if you want some let me know. Also if anyone has advice on how best to harvest, preserve, and grow the seeds, that would be great. Right now, about half the pods have split open and the seeds look like little black berries pushing their way out of green pods.
