Michael and John are laughing at me.

We just ordered chinese take-out and I got delegated to make the phone call. I called the restaurant and Michael and John heard me say "Hello Jenny. This is Katherine... I'm sorry, I can barely hear you... oh, yeah, Steve said you had been sick... " And then Michael and John were laughing so hard that I couldn't hear her at all, and I had to go in the other room to order.

Heh. I guess I eat a little more chinese food than Michael and John do.

Laugh. They didn't recognize me out of motorcycle gear until I ordered. "Two orders Hunan Chicken, please." She looked again, "Oh! You're Kathy's friend! I did not recognize you without your helmet."

Laugh. You are definitely loved there. They know you not only by you, but by what you order. (grin)

In my last location in Toronto, I lived near a gourmet pizza place called Magic Oven. I had it on speed dial, they had me on the computer system. It got so they would answer the phone, wait until I said "I'd like to order some pizza for delivery" and then they'd say "one medium barbecue chicken and one medium chicken tandoori, thin crust?" And then they'd tell me my address, with the correct dial-up code.

I miss Magic Oven.

Oo, how nice! Which neighbourhood?

As far as I'm concerned, the neihbourhood was "the Danforth", although I think my particular major street was considered "Broadview on the Valley" or something equally absurd.

I lived at Broadview and Gamble, and Magic Oven was at Broadview and Danforth, just opposite the Broadview subway station. Excellent pizza.

And a really cool neighbourhood to live in, with an amazing range of food and coffee establishments within walking distance.

I miss it.

Hm, perhaps you and Michael need a live-in chef, so you'll eat healthier food? Did you like the Indian meal I prepared last time I was in town? Would Michael? :->

I'd be very tempted, that's for sure!

As I was just telling my mum, though: I can't see me cooking for a living. I enjoy it, but I'm not efficient at it, nor interested in devoting enough time to becoming efficient.

I'll be happy to cook a time or two the next time I visit, anyway!
