Feeling popular tonight

So on Sunday night when I arrived here, the first thing I did was to go to the laundromat, because I didn't have any clean clothes left to wear. At the laundromat I met another female motorcyclist, her name is Jan and she lives right here in town, and works in the building right next to the one where my office is. She was really cool and we made plans to ride together to the local bike night this evening. But during the day today it rained, and got cold, so when 6pm rolled around it was chilly and damp out. This bike night doesn't happen if the weather sucks, so we decided to just go get dinner, and Jan would pick me up at the hotel.
While I was waiting in the hotel lobby for her, one of my coworkers came off the elevator. I didn't even know he was in town, he's here from Syracuse. He and some of the other guys from work were going to dinner, and did I want to join them? So Jan and I both joined them.
Then as we were eating dinner, my cell phone rang. I looked to see who was calling and didn't recognize the number. Curiousity got the better of me so I excused myself and answered. It was Jason, he was at the hotel looking for me, he saw my bike but where was I? I told him and he came down and joined us as we all went for ice cream.
Amazing that I can start out looking at a lonely evening, and end up out running around town with a party of eight lively people from six different states.
