Wheelchair shopping

Today I went to two stores and test drove power wheelchairs. I have picked a store, but still trying to decide which chair. There are three or four contenders.

I also ordered a new rollator and it arrived today. It is fancier than my old one. Carbon fiber with the brake cables routed inside the frame. I am going to try using this instead of my cane, see if I can feel safer.

Hey there. So sorry you're having trouble getting around. Hope your new chair, once you pick it, helps give you a better sense of secure mobility.

This is all such a bummer, which you cope with so stoically - I still remember your blog being you biking around the world, not picking out power wheelchairs :-(. A friend of mine has had a similar journey with MS, going from biking to a power wheelchair in it seems like a handful of years. I'm vaguely hopeful, as a non scientist, that some of the work being done around RNA with the COVID vaccine etc will eventually lead to somebody figuring out how to tell the immune system to knock it off & maybe even start to repair the damage...

Eh, I don’t feel stoic. I am ok, I don’t have any pain unless I fall, and I am enjoying spending more time at home these days. Life is just fine, it’s all good, don’t worry about me. 😀
