I had my second Moderna shot on Thursday. Friday afternoon I got absolutely walloped by the side effects. I was shivering and feverish. It was an enormous struggle to get out of my chair and walk to the bathroom, a huge struggle with my clothes, and an even bigger struggle to walk back to my chair. And turning around to sit down in the chair was just too much. My legs crumpled and I fell on the floor. I was on the floor and could barely even lift my head! No way I was getting up on my own. And Steve was out.

Fortunately when I began struggling to get out of my chair, I’d had the foresight to put my phone in my pocket. No neighbor would be strong enough to get me up so I called 911.

Three EMTs came in and put me back in my chair. They also brought my rollator in from the garage so I would have it next time. I declined an ambulance ride and promised to stay in my chair until someone came home.

A little while later my friend Gail dropped in and was kind enough to help me on my next bathroom trip. (I have noticed this before - on bad mobility days I have to pee about three times as often!)

By 8pm I was back to my usual normal mildly crappy mobility and could get out of my chair reasonably well. I have slept about 20 of the last 24 hours, and I am sticking with the rollator for now, but overall I would say I am ok.

Side effects mean the shot worked. If I had a do over I would still get vaccinated.

Well that must have been scary. Glad it turned out OK and you're feeling better.
