Financial advice
Sep. 10th, 2019 05:04 pmMy employer offered us a 45 minute 1-on-1 meeting with a financial planner so I signed up. Well that was a waste of time. It was basically identical to what you get from a short blurb in the AARP newsletter. Yes, I know how 401Ks work, and what asset allocation means. Duh.
I suppose they figure most people have failed to read, like, every mass market financial advice article ever. Though I suppose that if the financial planner had said anything I had not heard before, I'd be suspicious. I never even bothered to ask if she is a fiduciary or not, since she didn't actually say anything.
Anyways, why bother?
