Donut ballet

elizillaThere are always three or four cars waiting when the library opens. This morning, most of those cars were performing a bizarre ballet.
It was snowing and had snowed in the night. Not a lot of snow. Maybe an inch. That new snow was on top of some puddles and slush, but it wasn't enough to get the plows out.
A jeep with a fart can exhaust came into the lot. It changed parking spots four or five times, then drove off. A few minutes later, it was back. It tried several more parking spots, and then began doing donuts in the lot. It was awfully close to an occupied SUV that was sitting there unmoving but with the engine running.
After a little while, the jeep pulled up in front of the SUV. The driver jumped out and attached a tow strap to the back bumper of the jeep, and the front bumper of the SUV. Why would someone tow another car that was running, not dead? Weird.
So then the jeep driver jumped in his jeep and started towing the SUV forward. The SUV then went into reverse and towed the jeep backwards. Both vehicles started sliding sideways. After a little while they stopped. The jeep driver hopped out and put away the strap. Then he got in the passenger seat of a third car. And THAT car started doing donuts.
Finally a fourth car arrived, and parked in the middle of the donut tire tracks, disrupting the activities. The drivers of all four cars walked into the library together.
I guess the kids have MLK day off of school.
