Every day, a little after 3pm, the same bicycle flies past my house. He's moving fast for a bicycle, probably 20mph or so. A grey-bearded guy in a hi-vis bicycle jersey and black lycra shorts and a bicycle helmet, riding something that looks like 1980s ten speed, except he's not pedaling. He's got what sounds like a little two-stroke motor. Not painfully loud, no louder than a stock XR100. Just loud enough that you wouldn't mistake him for a rider-powered bicycle or an electric. Loud enough that I hear him coming. He doesn't leave a plume of smoke; it seems to burn clean whatever it is.

I want a better look at this thing! I need to find a polite way to flag him down and get the story. He goes by way too fast for me to properly check him out. :(

Maybe I'll lie in wait with a camera.
