elizilla: my dearly departed kitty (elizabeth)

I was just commenting someone else's LJ when I looked out the window to see a tragedy. Someone ran over my neighbor Kim's little black cat, Nicole. She must have died almost instantly; it was very messy.

We found a box and a pretty ribbon to tie it with. Michael and another neighbor dug the hole. We all attended the little cat funeral.

Nicole was a very sweet cat and a good mother. She is survived by three sons, Sparkle (Kim's other cat), and [livejournal.com profile] shadowriderhope's cats Sophie and Morsel.

Poor Kim.

my condolences on losing the cat, and also on having an image like that in your head. For me, anyway, when I saw a person get hit by a car in San Francisco, it took a really long time for me to stop having that image flash in my head at odd moments when I was going to cross a street or whatever.

On the one hand, I think for survival purposes it's good to be reminded of the danger of cars. On the other, witnessing such things is shocking and unpleasant especially if the animal in question was known to you.

*hugs*
