Greg to the rescue

elizillaGreg called. He was at the BP station trying to help a guy whose headlights had quit. Could he bring him over to work on it in our garage? Sure. So when I went out to the garage, there was a young couple with '76 Kawasaki 650, and Greg had already found the loose ground wire in the headlight bucket, which brought back the low beam. But not the high beam. The headlight was a round sealed beam, not the more typical modern H4. Probably the high filament was out. But guess what? I opened a cupboard door and pulled down a sealed beam headlight. Greg installed it, it fit, both high and low worked, and they were soon on their way.
That headlight came out of the Ural. I saved it when I upgraded to a brighter one. Turns out they are generic. I bet that he didn't have a high beam even before the incident that loosened that ground wire. So he's now on his way, better than before. And one piece of clutter is now gone from the garage.
