Squirrels and dogs
Mar. 4th, 2015 12:04 pmMonday night we put some stale onion buns out under the birdfeeder for the squirrels. Yesterday I watched a squirrel drag one about fifteen feet, down the sidewalk and over to a tree, but he just couldn't haul it up the tree; it was too big. It was funny to watch him drop it over and over. Eventually he gave up and left it on the ground. He gnawed at it for quite a while, but did not finish.
This morning a women came walking along the sidewalk with two dogs on leashes. One of the dogs found the remains of that onion bun, and next thing you know the two dogs were having a big snarling fight. The leashes were wrapped around the woman's legs and the dogs were going at each other, big time, while she tried to break up the fight. She did eventually manage to separate them, and make them sit, cowed.
Who would have guessed that stale hamburger buns could lead to such drama?
