I've read a lot of books over the last couple of weeks. I've just been in a low energy state, I feel like reading.

[livejournal.com profile] xtatic1 sings like an angel. Really!

Bees have nested in the siding outside the garage, and Michael has been trying to spray them. The bug spray kills on contact, but even with piles of dead ones falling out, they continue to fly in and out of the hole. I guess the spray hasn't gotten all the way down into the nest yet.

Work continues to be overwhelming.

I've had the V-Strom in an unrideable state for a month now. I took it apart, then it turned out I had the wrong part, and when I got the right part I didn't get around to putting it back together very fast. And when I finally put it back together I did something wrong, and oil is leaking, so I'll have to take it apart again.

I put new tires on the TDM, and new front brake pads, getting it ready to take to the track this weekend. The new tires are Avon Azaros. I had one thing go horribly wrong when I replaced the tires: Before I took the old tire off, I sprayed Brake Kleen on the rear wheel to knock off the worst of the grime, and it took off some of the paint! Yikes! Erik says this is my chance to powder coat the wheels any color I like, but I'll probably just let it get corroded. I hate painting.

I went to the fabric store to get some velcro and came out with two new pieces of fabric. I guess I need to find time to do some sewing sometime soon.

I've got nothing going on this weekend. Want me to come up and help with the bikes?

Hey, if it wasn't for my financial incompetency, I'd be there! The Evil Bandit desperately needs a track day.

I've found that waiting for nighttime is the best way to deal with bees. They all return to the nest and you can get them all at once. And since they're all in the nest, anything that's going to come out AT you is going to get a face-full of poison first. You can really flood a nest if you have 10 seconds of concentrated spray.

Good luck!
