Started things in motion to refinance my truck. Ford Credit offered an extra thousand dollar rebate if I took one of their loans at 7.99 percent. It was simple interest, no penalty for early payoff, so I did it. My credit union is refinancing it at 5 percent. I'm also converting it to pay every two weeks. This is cheaper, more convenient, and less painful, since they can do it automatically out of my direct deposits before I ever even see the money. I'll save about $1500 over the life of the loan.

I can't wait to tell M about it. He always likes a good financial planning story. :-)
