A little more progress

elizillaI've managed to maintain the kitchen in a reasonable state of cleanliness for almost two weeks now. Tonight I cleaned the upstairs bathroom for the first time in way too long, and did some vacuuming. It's still a disaster here but it's getting a little better. Maybe someday I will not have to be embarassed by the condition of the house every time someone visits.
The new truck is huge. I've been driving it around some, trying to get used to it. Today on the freeway a minivan hid in my blind spot. A minivan, for chrissakes! Scared me half to death. I hope eventually I will stop feeling like I am driving a bus.
I keep catching myself talking about how "this truck" compares to "my truck". The Mazda has been my truck for more than 13 years, and old habits die hard.
Tomorrow I should go to the dealer and see if they have my license plate; the paper one taped in the back window is annoying.
I'm going to have a spray-in bedliner installed. There's a Rhino Liner shop about a block away from the house, and I stopped in there to find out about it. They put this plastic stuff in, 1/4 inch thick on the floor and 1/8 inch thick on the sides. It's permanent and very tough. I hope it will keep the new truck's bed from rusting out like the old one did. I have to drill the holes for the wheel chocks before I have the spray-in bedliner installed. Maybe I'll get that done this weekend.
I want to get a tonneau cover too. Maybe when I go to get the license plate I will stop at the truck accessory store, it's out in that neighborhood.
Wednesday night I had a nice ride on the TDM. It's good to have it back on the road. But I think I need to work on its brakes, they have gotten very soft.
The V-Strom's clutch parts are in. I am going to try to install them tomorrow.
