Hooray for the police

There's been a cop car running up and down my street this afternoon, pulling over speeding cars. I'm glad to see them here. A lot of traffic travels south on Hewitt and turns right onto Ellsworth, and a certain portion of that traffic likes to avoid the traffic light on the corner by flying through my neighborhood at a high rate of speed. This is not an arterial street. It's a curving residential street and there are parked cars blocking the line of sight. Children play outside all day, and there are cats roaming day and night. I'm always afraid some small living creature will get run over out there. These drivers can't see far enough ahead to be flying through here so fast. Hooray for the police slowing them down.
