Aerostich has finally started offering women's sizes for the Roadcrafter. Maybe I can finally get one that fits! I have written to them to open the discussion, at least.
Well, I just checked their website. This is perfect if you're a woman sized 8, 10, 12, or 14. Whatever that actually means. And eff you if you're not one of those sizes or if, for example, you're not made from a cookie cutter size pattern. C'mon, Aerostich. Sigh.
I love how, when you click the size chart, it tells you to call them.
I can actually wear a size 14, sometimes. But whether I can wear *their* size 14, is a good question. It's not like you can assume that "14" actually means anything objective.
Almost every manufacturer of women's riding gear has 14 as the largest size. I mean, come on, I am always seeing stats that say the average American woman wears a size 14. Why leave out half of the size distribution, and why do they all serve the same half? Also, the size distribution is skewed by age, and their customer base is old. How many 18-year-old women are going to buy a $900 riding suit? A riding suit that isn't even remotely attractive? Seems like they'd do better to have 14 as the smallest size.
I suppose they are closed for Columbus Day, but I am looking forward to their response. It's possible that I will finally get a suit that fits. Maybe. It's not impossible...
