This morning when I got up, there were men with saws cutting into the pavement on my street. Now, all is quiet, but the cuts remain. I wonder what they will do next, out there?
In my block, they cut it open and then did some improvement to the water mains before they covered it back up. They shut off the water from 9am to 5pm on one designated day. They were digging for a couple of weeks before they got around to us, though. I'm not sure how many water mains were accessible from that one general area.
I briefly hoped they were going to repave my street - they have repaved many other streets in the neighborhood, in the last two months. But then it occurred to me that they wouldn't have put down all these new tar snakes, if they were going to give us new asphalt. I always forget that there are people that believe that installing a thousand tiny traction-free zones on a street, counts as a repair.
