This bike climbed Mount Washington
Sep. 4th, 2012 12:09 pmYesterday George and Mary and I rode back to MA together, by way of the Mount Washington Auto Road. The Ural didn't like it very much, but it made it to the top. Ar one point we had to stop because the vehicles in front of us had stopped, and I had a heck of a time getting it back into first gear. At the top, in the parking area, the minute I pulled the clutch in, it stalled. We rolled it into a parking place, and took an hour or so to wander around the visitor areas and look at the views and let things cool down, at which point the Ural no longer smelled of hot oil, and it started right up. It was easier to go down than up. I don't normally sticker my vehicles, but I decided to apply the sticker for this one since it was such a challenge for the bike.
I'm going to change the oil again before I go home, after cooking it so thoroughly yesterday. :)
Mary took a ton of pictures and they look cool on the little camera screen. She'll send them to me when she gets home, and I'll post some here.
