Electioneering phone calls

My land line phone is tied up for all the hours I am working - they just get a busy signal from 9am until sometime after 6pm. Today I turned off my work phone at 7:45pm. But they called me at 8:40 this morning, they called within 30 seconds of me turning off my work phone, and they've called twice more since then.

If I thought I could just donate to the campaigns I care about, and then be left alone, I'd do it now. But if I donate today the same campaign will be calling me again next week, along with three others because I'm now in the databases as a hot prospect. And nothing slows down the push pollers.

I'm fed up with the political war dialers. If you mention you're on the do-not-call list, they snap back that political calls are exempt. I don't care of they are. They're still sales pitches. I'm so fed up with the ever-increasing frequency that I'm going to change my registration to Libertarian simply to get the Republicrats off my back.

Speaking as a registered Libertarian, it doesn't work. I find a rescue whistle blown into the phone gets the point across a lot more effectively.
