One down, one to go
May. 2nd, 2012 01:48 pmA guy from Toronto just came and picked up the TDM. He's someone I know, so I will at least get to see the bike again. But I am still sad. :(
A guy from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, wants to come and see the NT next Monday.
Neither of these bikes were available new in Canada. I guess if you're a Canadian and want these machines, Michigan is a good place to shop.

Date: 2012-05-05 02:32 am (UTC)I'd like a dirtbike, except I don't want to take up trailering so I need to find more things to do with it close to home.
I'd like to own one of Erik's scooters, but I don't really have any use for it, so I need something else cool to do with it.
Maybe put a sidecar on a Current scooter. Though it would be an insanely expensive project and I don't know enough about sidecars to make smart decisions there. There were two guys at All Clubs Day in Stockbridge last year, with home made sidecars on KLRs. Maybe I should put a sidecar on a dirtbike.
Maybe I should buy something that has a sidecar already professionally set up, so I can learn about it without having to reinvent everything myself. Time enough to roll my own when I know more of what hazards lie on that road. And it doesn't need to be powerful or travel far - I am not looking for a great big rig like the one Ed Rockefeller had. I'm thinking small and local; grocery getting, not touring. There are a number of Ural rigs for sale on Advrider. And one of the guys on Chattymorons has been talking about Royal Enfields - I went to their site to look, and they advertise that you can buy them with sidecars.
Or maybe I'll just ride the Super10 everywhere. It certainly hasn't lost any lustre; I still love it. I don't think I'll put a sidecar on it, though - that would be in the category of great big rigs, which is not what I want.
