I awoke from a vivid and unusually coherent dream this morning...

We were throwing a Club Fusion party in a hotel (but not a hotel I recognized). I was sharing the suite with [livejournal.com profile] jeffreyab and [livejournal.com profile] dagibbs. [livejournal.com profile] jeffreyab had met four cute, young, small, goth college girls and had invited them to stay with us in the suite. Somehow three of them ended up sleeping in my room. [livejournal.com profile] dagibbs came over to my side of the suite and we were laughing at [livejournal.com profile] jeffreyab's habit of taking in strays that just happened to be cute young females, and [livejournal.com profile] jeffreyab's slim chances with the one girl he'd cut out from the herd, who was way too young for him.

The girls in my room had all this stuff, there were mounds of suitcases and backpacks and shopping bags heaped in the corners of the room. They were chattering and brushing their hair and applying makeup. It was too much for me, so [livejournal.com profile] dagibbs and I went off to the dance, and then to room parties. We were just wandering around the con.

We stopped at one of those room parties that is populated by older fans, and one of them turned out to be the parent of one of the girls. He said "Gee, it sure was nice of you to loan your motorcycle to my daughter." He pointed out the window and my TDM was wobbling around the parking lot. The rider was wearing my helmet and Aerostich, but they were obviously way too big for her. Another tiny figure was wearing my leathers. The one on my bike ran into a curb on it and fell over.

I ran down to my room, and the girls were already back there, they were taking off my riding gear, giggling, and brushing their hair. I asked WTF were they thinking to go out riding my bike without even asking? How did they get the keys, they must have gone through my pockets the minute I left the room. I told them that if they had no more respect for other people's things, that they couldn't stay with me, that they had to get the hell out of my room right this minute, and find someone else to stay with. I started throwing all their stuff out in the hall.

[livejournal.com profile] jeffreyab traded rooms with someone and went away with all the girls, not really angry at anyone, just trying to make peace. The girls didn't see what the big deal was, they rolled their eyes and drifted away.

[livejournal.com profile] dagibbs and I went out to the parking lot to look for the bike. We couldn't find it. We eventually spotted a TDM on its side in the weeds at the back of the parking lot, but it wasn't mine and it was obviously halfway parted out. Then we realized the back of the hotel adjoined a motorcycle boneyard and there were about six TDMs in various stages of disassembly, but none of them were mine. From there the dream devolved into one of those dreams where you search frantically for someone or something, and never find it.

You have motorcycles and I have goth girls.

Sounds you worry more about losing them than I do. (:

I like that in your dream I can afford my own room.

Some day those goth girls might be my nieces although they will be better at riding motorcycles since they already own/have access to minibikes.

You ever notice there are not as many goth women as goth girls?
I wonder what happens to them?
I smell a panel topic here.

I remembered after that there used to be a goth at Ad Astra who was also a lawyer and I recall I have seen her lately there.

He can't even score in your dreams, eh? You're gonna give him a complex. :)

they were taking off my riding gear, giggling, and brushing their hair.

And this is the part where one wonders how much of younger versions of yourself are in these biker grrls. :)

I know a goodly number of goths who use the term goth. I think it is the self-label, that has come to be better known. Of course, what we see a goth may be something different by now, goth has been around long enough that it may be passe.

Wow, that started out like a con report, not a dream.

Are we having anxiety about hosting Clubfusion yet again?

I can handle refreshments, Gibbs can be sociable and you can work em for memberships, you sold the most at Clave.
