Tonight we are in Charleston WV. We found a little rain but did not put on rainsuits. Each time we punched through it quickly.

Ate breakfast at the Blue Bell diner in McConnelsville OH.

Spree! I found Spree at the BP station in Woodsfield OH.

The new pavement on OH255 continues to be fabulous, there wasn't even any gravel in the curves. They have repaved Elk Run Rd since I was last there. Also WV16 south of Harrisburg where it used to be bumpy, is now very nice.

Saw a very small fawn - way too small for this time of year.

Met a guy named Fuzzy who lives in Ivydale and who told us a lot about the Elk River.

Mac says hi. "Yowwwwr," actually, but I'm pretty sure I know what he meant.

Do you mean Harrisville, WV? The parents of a good friend of mine live there, and I stayed with them two years ago when I was down that way. Beautiful country.

I remember WV16 as having some wonderful curves but bumpy. Glad they smoothed out the bumps. That was probably the best riding of my trip, through WV.

My favorite 60 miles of riding--anywhere--is a loop that starts and ends in Harrisville. WV16, WV47, WV74, and Pullman Road. It really doesn't get any better. Luckily, it's only 15 miles from the family homeplace.

I spent most of my summers till I was in my teens on the Elk River. It was right out of my grandparents backdoor. I learned to fish and row on that river.
