This morning, there was a bird attacking his reflection in the passenger side window and mirror on my truck. He was doing it every time I looked out the window, for at least two hours. M says he's been out there doing that every morning, of late.

Maybe I should put a bag over the mirror when I park, or park someplace different.

Not sure what kind of bird. A brownish red bird whose tail looked more red when he spread it out. Maybe an immature cardinal?

It's the wrong time of year for a juvie of any species of bird that winters in Michigan.

It sounds like a female cardinal from the description and time of year, tho I've never heard of a female doing this. Male cardinals certainly are the most known for this weird territorial behavior, so I'm willing to bet its a cardinal of some gender/age. I have witnessed this twice on my own car while parked in different states. Yes, as long as the mirrors are covered the "intruder" will be perceived as gone and the battle won.
Critters are amusing.
