Podiatrist
Jun. 15th, 2016 01:33 pmYesterday I went to the podiatrist. Because the sensor for the nerve zapper is giving me pressure sores. They fiddled with the insole of my shoe and tried to resolve the problems. We'll see if it helps.
But the interesting part, was that they trimmed my toenails. They had great big industrial size nail snippers, and then they used a dremel to file them smooth. Power tools for nail care. I never would have imagined it. They had it done in seconds. They weren't super concerned about the condition of my feet. It is apparently the norm for diabetics to visit the podiatrist every nine weeks for their nails, so they do nail trims at almost every appointment, and they see a lot worse than mine.
I have a dremel just like theirs. I could use it on myself next time. I really can't see paying an actual doctor for a pedicure five times a year. I asked if they thought I needed to worry about doing my own and they didn't think so. The doctor said that nail salon pedicures are also fine.
It will be interesting to see what the bill comes to. Because of course no one can ever tell you the cost in advance. It was certainly quicker than a nail salon so it saves time at least.
