Lyrics meme
Dec. 18th, 2004 12:55 amTonight I sat down and created my first playlist ever, a nice long one, over 20 hours. I came back to LJ and there was this meme in
annaoj's journal. It seems like a fun game, and the timing was perfect, so here goes.
1. On your current playlist, hit shuffle and pick the first twenty-five songs on the list (no matter how cheesy or embarrassing).
2. Write down one (or two) line(s) of the song. Try to avoid lines that include the title.
3. Have your friends comment and see if they know the songs.
4. When someone guesses correctly, strike out the line and list the correct name of the song next to it.
1. coyote sleeps with everyone, but in the morning he's long gone, and it turns out that he was a she
2. pour out the whiskey, pour out the rum / fifty cents to Davey Godfrey so the government work gets done
3. she raised her head and pricked her ears and before that hammer fell
4. she throws him on the ground without turning around
5. even if we both still look puzzled, let your face be the last one I see
6. so I worked on the towboats with my slippery city shoes / which I swore I would never do again
7. but few can see the guiding team that guards him from below
8. if your eye got poked out in this life, would it be waiting up in heaven with your wife?
pi3832Crash Test Dummies, God Shuffled His Feet
9. "but he's your best friend" she said / he took a drink and said "he was"
10. in the middle of it all, you always break my fall
shadowriderhope Great Big Sea, Stumbling In
11. I spent some time in New Orleans / I had to live on rice and beans
12. and the blue eyed madonna leaves town while the drunken man waits
13. this tie is wrong, my belt's too tight / I hate these shoes, no one wears white
14. she smiles like a cat would to a pigeon on the roof / she says I look into windows for universal truth
15. he walked right over picked up a stone and put it in her hand / he said there's no one left to judge you here, they understand
16. she knows she's more than just a little misunderstood / she has trouble acting normal when she's nervous
metalfatigue0 Counting Crows, Round Here
17. if these two feet are all that is between us / you will never see two feet move faster
shadowriderhope Splendourbog, Coffee
18. he says when I look back on all my old girlfriends / the ones I really gave my heart to were the ones I couldn't hold
19. first one's sitting out by the porch swing / with a fridge and stove and a bunch of other things
20. she'll follow me with the fire shovel up and down the room
21. sail your sea / meet your storm
22. night will fall, someone will call / and Tanya will light a lamp
23. the trees are gold and thirsty and they need a little rain / nothing would ever happen if we always stayed the same
24. sometimes I don't know what we're fighting about / but that don't mean we can't work it out
25. and we'll take up where we left off when we all meet again

Date: 2004-12-19 06:13 am (UTC)I've made mix tapes or CD's for friends and for events, and have some lists on paper that I'd like to record sometime. But I certainly don't have anything like my own playlist. What is this? Is there some new technology or new game I'm not up on?

Date: 2004-12-20 12:43 am (UTC)You store the songs on your hard drive in mp3 format, or whatever your format of choice is.
You can get the mp3 files by ripping them from your own CDs, or you can download them, legally or illegally, from the internet. I mostly rip them from CDs I own, but I have a few that I've downloaded from legal sources like band websites. I rip from CDs using a program called CDEX.
