Zoning board of appeals
Feb. 16th, 2021 01:31 pmA recent newsletter from the city, asked for volunteers to fill vacancies in several parts of the city organization. I have been saying I want to get more involved in hyper local stuff, so I applied and was selected for the zoning board of appeals. I wonder if anyone else applied, or was I the only one?
They have sent me a ton of reading material. Some would find it tedious but I think I can get into the nuts and bolts of this, quite happily.
Tonight is my first meeting, over Zoom. There is just one request to handle. I wonder what it will be like? Do they rail through it super quickly or is it wrung out until everyone is tired? We are supposed to refrain from discussing it outside the meetings, because under the Open Meetings Act any discussions are supposed to be kept public. So I won’t describe the case here even though it is not secret. I don’t want to accidentally create a discussion. 😀
