I think I just completely lack whatever intuition I'm supposed to have, for making mobile devices do normal computer things. Like, move files. I can't move photos from my PC onto an iPad or iPhone. I spent days struggling with it and finally gave up. (That was years ago, and I'm not getting back into it now; please don't even ask what went wrong, I have done my best to forget those awful hours I will never get back.)
And today I am being defeated by the same thing, in Android. It's just like the IPad, it resists all attempts to do things with files.
Basically, any file that can be put on a PC, or DropBox or OneDrive? It cannot go to Android or I-device. They don't take files.
Google gives me lots of search results for how one moves files to Android, but they all start by telling me I have to install something I don't have and can't get because it isn't in the app store and to put it on you need to move a file. Files don't move! Bootstraps all the way down.
As long as you don't want to do anything specific, mobile devices are fun to play with. I have enjoyed my iPad and serendipity has brought me cool things. But god forbid I want to do something specific that hasn't been offered. No can haz.
This is why, when work has tried to persuade me to join a team that supports phones, I always say no. Phones are just not usable by me. They are tiny and inscrutable and I hate them.
