This isn't a high-skill painting job. But I am looking for someone who can scrape and paint the deck and porch, and touch up some exterior trim.
Two years ago we power washed the deck before painting it. The paint aisle guy at Lowes said this was a bad idea, that it wouldn't dry properly and the paint would not stick. He was right about this - it didn't! I'd like to hire someone to go over it with a wire brush and paint it again, and hopefully it will stick a bit better this time.
Also, the house has vinyl siding and trim, except there's a bit of white painted trim here and there which is peeling. Like on the porch pillars, and around the garage door. This needs repainting.
Anyone know any reliable painters? Or handymen that are willing to paint? Maybe someone has a kid interested in earning a little cash? The important thing is, we want to get it done fairly soon, not have the job languish!
I have an Angie's List membership so I picked some painters that had good reviews out there. I skipped the national chains because I'd rather that the money I pay go to the actual painter instead of half of it getting skimmed off. I started calling the little guys. Every one of the phone numbers was disconnected. LOL!
I found a couple painters on Craigslist and left messages. We'll see what they say.
