A truck just pulled up across the street with a dumpster that says Recycle Ann Arbor on the side. They spent about a half hour trying to squeeze it in the back by the garage, during which time a SECOND truck arrived with a dumpster bearing the logo of a local waste hauler. The second truck sat and waited until finally the recycle dumpster driver gave up and put the dumpster out by the road. Then both trucks left, the second one taking its dumpster with it. I think they had expected to squeeze two dumpsters into the driveway, and sort for recyclable vs trash. But they had to settle for one.
I predict they're going to get crap dumped by complete strangers who see that dumpster as a chance to dispose of things for free. And the drive-by-trash will not be chosen for its recyclable qualities. I'll have to ask the neighbors if they want me to chase those people away if I can. I'm not afraid.
In other notes, the house next door that hasn't sold? The owner was by last weekend. She says they have had three offers but they were all lowball offers and she's not willing to bring money to the closing; she will rent it again before she will sell for less than she owes.
