New door and window
Aug. 13th, 2013 10:52 amThe contractor is here to install a completely new window in the walkout basement, and replace the walkout door. The current windows and door are all under the deck, so even though they're larger than usual for basement windows, it's dim down there. The new window will be on a wall where there's currently no window at all, but which isn't under the deck. It will also be a larger window. The new door will be in the same spot, still under the deck, but it will have a window in the door, and it will also have a storm door with screen so it can be open for ventilation.
I mean really, what's the point of having a walk-out basement, with so little light and air? The back half of the basement is entirely above ground; let's take advantage of that!
