The Ford stealer continues to insist that the leak problem is resolved, that the fix was to put a shield over the electricals to keep the water out. I am not at all impressed with this solution; IMHO the fix should be to find the leak and seal it. But what can I do? No one else wants to touch it, and I don't want to deal with it myself in the middle of winter. So I'm letting them put $682 worth of new electrical parts in it.
This is the third time in the shop for this. If it happens again, I'll have done my due diligence, and I'll be looking for redress under the lemon law. It'll be a chance to try out the legal benefit my employer provides, I guess.
And if it keeps me running until spring, I can work on it myself then, when the weather is warmer.
