I successfully found things to do this evening. I went to Borders and there was a gaming group meeting there. So I learned a train game called Station Master which was fun. Unfortunately I then got roped into truly awful family game where people had to draw pictures with their eyes closed, or act, or make things out of clay, while other people on their team tried to guess. The acting stuff was hopeless. There's nothing anyone could act out that would make me name George Clooney, for instance, even if we were there all night. (Heh, I couldn't name him if he walked in there himself.) All I could answer were the backwards spelling questions and the definitions.

It's neat to get out of work at a reasonable hour. Tonight they let us out of class at 4:30. So I showed off my amazing detective skills by surprising [personal profile] happyfunpaul at Diesel. Then I came back out to Chelmsford and met some coworkers for dinner at a local steakhouse. So I've been to two different social things AND had dinner, it's only 9:30, and I don't feel like I've been wrung out and hung up to dry. Whee! After I digest for a while I'm going to go down to the hotel's fitness center. I never do this much stuff on a work night at home. I'm always too stressed out to overcome the inertia.

Thanks for all the invites!

Unfortunately I am in this class from 8:30am until 5-ish, so I can't visit before 3pm or after midnight.

I am in MA all week, but they're predicting that they'll let us out a couple hours early on Friday. My plan for Friday afternoon/evening is to travel to Saratoga Springs, NY, where I need to drop off a turbo for an Audi. Then I will try to get somewhere closer to Toronto before getting a room for the night. Right now I'm expecting to go around the west end of the lake since I might meet up with some motorcyclists there. Saturday morning I plan to go into Toronto, to the convention center, where they are having a big motorcycle show. I'll probably spend hours and hours there, and leave in the late afternoon. So dinner in Toronto on Saturday night is a good possibility, if anyone is interested.

I will probably hit the Michigan border very late Saturday night, and I'll just want to go home, so I probably won't want to visit in Sarnia. However if Toronto is alluring enough, I could end up staying overnight out there somewhere, in which case I'd arrive at the Michigan border around lunchtime Sunday.

I doubt I will make it to Vermont or to Ottawa. Maybe next time.
