Is this too much to ask?
Feb. 8th, 2005 04:27 pmMy brother came over here again today to borrow my truck. He has put about 1000 miles on it in the last week. I don't put 1000 miles on it in two months! I suppose if I drive it 6000 miles a year and other people drive it 10,000 miles in a year, I might actually use it up before it rots. At least he puts gas in it before he returns it, which is good. But he also messes it up. I always have to throw away trash.
Also, today while he had it, I had to drive his car to pick up my new glasses. His car was full of so much junk that I could not have put a second person in it. The check engine light was on and his brakes were grinding.
Maybe I just notice this more because my truck is actually nice, for the first time in many years. But other people's trash and other people's car troubles are bugging the snot out of me.
I don't really mind loaning my truck, but I wish people would at least remove the stuff from the front seats of their cars before bringing them over here, and when they bring my truck back they should remove their trash from it. If their car has a mechanical problem that makes it a bad idea to drive, then they should organize their truck borrowing a little farther in advance. I can do without any car at all if it's planned, I just don't want to drive around in the ad hoc junker de jour with a bunch of someone else's trash.
Is this too much to ask? Am I being too particular about this?
Note,
hotwire7 this is not aimed at you. You have helped me so much with so many things, that I owe you a lot more than just a few car vacuumings, and I don't mind doing it!
